Archives For Cadillac

Ryan Brehm is running away at a record pace in the 97th Michigan Open Championship presented by LaFontaine Cadillac at Prestwick Golf Club.

And he loves the idea of winning a one-year lease on a new Cadillac from LaFontaine to go along with a first-place check today.

“That would be wonderful,” said the PGA Tour Canada player who spends much of the year on the road going from tournament to tournament. “I could get used to driving one of those.”

The 28-year-old Mount Pleasant native, Grand Rapids resident shot a course-record 9-under-par 63 Wednesday to take a seven-shot lead into today’s final round of the $57,500 state championship.

It’s a little damp this morning for the start of the third round of the Michigan Open Championship presented by LaFontaine Cadillac at Prestwick Village Golf Club.

But there’s a VIP hospitality tent with all the comforts of home covering invited guests of LaFontaine.

Meanwhile, when the weather breaks great golf is at hand.

Ryan Brehm and Willie Mack III shared the lead at the halfway point of the four-round championship.

It was good news for Mack and Brehm, but maybe bad news for everybody else in the field.

The three co-leaders after one round Monday all had interesting travel stories and could have used a new Cadillac.

Willie Mack III of Grand Blanc had to drive from Atlanta after winning a mini-tour event there Sunday night.

Joey Garber of Petoskey came to make his professional debut after a stellar college career at the University of Georgia and a much-needed week off in Chicago. He hasn’t made it home yet from college, and is driving the whole way.

And Mount Pleasant native and Grand Rapids resident Ryan Brehm flew the red-eye flight from Vancouver in Canada to Chicago with a connecting flight to Grand Rapids arriving at 9 a.m. Monday, and then hopped in a car to drive to Prestwick Village and play.

They shared the lead through the first round of the 97th Michigan Open with rounds of 7-under-par 65.

The race to the lease of a new Cadillac ATS is on.

The 97th Michigan Open Championship presented by LaFontaine Cadillac has started and will continue through Thursday (June 9-12) at Prestwick Village Golf Club.

2014-Michigan-Open-PGA-LaFontaine-CadillacSponsoring LaFontaine Cadillac is one of 18 LaFontaine Automotive Group franchises in nine locations across southeast Michigan, and will present the 2014 champion with a one-year lease of a new 2014 Cadillac ATS.

“That’s nice, a trophy, a check and a new car to take it home in,” quipped Brian Cairns, last year’s Michigan PGA Player of the Year who teaches at the Fox Hills Learning Center in Plymouth.

Tom Werkmeister, 46, went in the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame Sunday, and today he starts defense of his title. He was the first amateur to win the championship in 38 years a year ago.

“To be part of a tournament with such a great history is still a big thrill,” Werkmeister said. “My father and his friends used to talk about the great players like Chuck Kocsis. Walter Hagen’s name is on the trophy.  I’ve played with Scott Hebert. It’s pretty amazing to be part of that.”

Cadillac recently told Edmunds.com that not all of its 940 dealers in the U.S. would carry the 2014 Cadillac ELR. In fact, upwards of 400 Cadillac dealers have opted not to carry the luxury brand’s first plug-in hybrid vehicle.

When posed with the question of whether or not to carry the ELR, Robert Milner, General Sales Manager of LaFontaine Cadillac, was adamant about the desire to not just carry the vehicle, but aggressively market it.

The all-new Cadillac ELR is the perfect fit for our luxury market. The Detroit Market is the largest Cadillac Market in the country. We have seen firsthand how important the environment is to our customers by their overwhelming positive reaction to our new Gold LEED Certified Dealership in Highland, Michigan.

The ELR’s combination of luxury, technology, eco-friendly and fuel efficiency make it a unique offering in the marketplace. We are very optimistic about the demand for such a vehicle in the Detroit Market and we have the resources, infrastructure, personnel and expertise to represent this unique vehicle aggressively.

A Growing Investment

Many Cadillac Dealers decided not to carry the ELR because of the significant investment for infrastructure, equipment and training needed to support the ELR.

History was just made at LaFontaine Cadillac Buick GMC in Highland, Michigan – the kind of history that’s only been achieved by a select few in any field or industry.

The LaFontaine Family just announced to the team that our Cadillac, Buick & GMC franchises have each won the General Motors Dealer of the Year Award for an unprecedented 4th year in a row!

Ask any sports team that has ever won a championship how difficult it is to win another one the next year. They’ll all tell you it’s not easy and history has proven that point over and over again.

There’s only been a handful of teams ever to win the ultimate prize two or more times in a row and now you can add the team at LaFontaine Cadillac Buick GMC to that list.

General Motors only bestows their prestigious Dealer of the Year Award to the best dealerships. It’s not an easy award to win, as a dealership has to exceed all expectations in Sales, Service, Parts and most importantly – Customer Satisfaction.

History-Is-Made-LaFontaine-Cadillac-Buick-GMC-Dealer-Of-The-Year

The GM Dealer of the Year and Mark of Excellence Award

Winning this award 4 years in a row is a direct reflection of every single person who works at LaFontaine Cadillac Buick GMC. Without their hard work and dedication, these awards would never be won.

Even though we’re talking about dealership awards here and not sports championships, the winners must overcome common obstacles when the new year begins.

Once you’re on the top of your profession, the competition lines up to take their best shot at “the champ” in order to claim the title.

Also, there’s always the possibility of a “championship letdown” that can occur when a team starts believing their own hype and forgets to do all the little things that got them to the top in the first place.

And then there’s the simple fact that nothing lasts forever.

However, I will tell you the entire team at LaFontaine Cadillac Buick GMC has no plans to slow down anytime soon. We’re only half way though the first month of 2014, and the whole team here already has their sights set on winning the GM Dealer of the Year Award again for the 5th straight time.

Game On!
