Luxury (lux·u·ry) noun: The state of great comfort and extravagant living. And that’s exactly what you’ll find in the all-new 2015 K900; Kia’s first ever rear drive, large luxury sedan.
I know all our Kia enthusiasts have two immediate questions. When will the K900 hit showrooms and how much will it cost?
I can tell you right now is that the all-new Kia K900 is going to be available this spring at LaFontaine Kia. The Standard Package K900 has an starting MSRP of $59,500 and the optional VIP Package goes up to $65,500.
Now that we have that out of the way, let’s take a look at what you can expect from this spectacular vehicle when it arrives:
The K900 offers an elegant exterior with fluidic features. The sleek frame and world-class wheelbase create its unique aerodynamic profile.
Its engine is mounted further back creating extra space between the cabin and front wheel; this gives the K900 a distinctive look.
The Adaptive Front Lighting System works in conjunction with the full LED headlights for optimum lighting.
The user-centric interior is designed to offer superior comfort. Nothing says “wow, that’s comfy!” like relaxing in the comfort of premium Nappa leather trimmed seating with ample legroom.
Everything about to cockpit is designed to offer you an experience like you’ve never had before. Your driving comfort is paramount in the K900 and the 16-way adjustable power driver’s seat provides you with power lumbar support and security.
The icing on the cake is analog clock which serves as a focal point on the dashboard. Not only does it tell you the time, but it’s connects with your GPS so it never needs to be manually set.
When you put it all together, you’ll always have easy access to your K900’s controls as you enjoy your luxurious drive around town.
What good is comfort if your vehicle doesn’t have the latest in technology to match?
It would be like reclining at home on a comfy leather couch only to be constantly adjusting the rabbit ears on a 12″ black and white TV while you try to tune in Dancing With The Stars. It just doesn’t make sense.
To that end, Kia didn’t skimp on the gadgets and gizmo’s that you’ll find inside the K900.
For starters, you’ll be able to treat your ears to a unique auditory experience when you power on the award-winning 17-speaker surround sound Lexicon Logic 7 audio system.
Here’s a fun fact – this audio system is so rare, that there was a time when the only vehicle you could find this system in was the Rolls-Royce Phantom – and now it’s available in the Kia K900. Talk about being in great company!
This alone makes the K900 the ultimate entertainment ride. Additional features of the infotainment system include a 9.2 screen offering enhanced navigation, Bluetooth and access to roadside assist.
Kia’s UVO app links to your smartphone, so you can enjoy access to many convenience and safety features.
Who said safety features have to be boring? To be quite honest, there’s as much technology is the K900’s safety features as there is in the entertainment system.
For instance, the Blind Spot detector uses mirror mounted radar to detect surrounding vehicles allowing you to change lanes on the highway with confidence.
Also, by using a rear-view mirror mounted camera, the K900’s Lane Departure Warning System let’s you know if you are unwittingly moving out of your lane. If you begin to change lanes without activating the appropriate turn signal, a warning light and sound will be triggered to get you back in the lane you are supposed to be driving in.
