August 17, 2021 – LaFontaine Automotive Group, the fastest-growing dealer group in Michigan, today announced it has acquired Signature Lincoln in Owosso, Michigan. This is the first Lincoln franchise as part of the Group and comes on the heels of the Group’s recent acquisition of Ralph Thayer Automotive.
“We welcome with great excitement Lincoln to the LaFontaine family of dealerships,” said Ryan LaFontaine, CEO, LaFontaine Automotive Group. “Lincoln has long been a brand we have been looking to add to our portfolio and are eager to capture the significant potential that exists with this acclaimed luxury brand.”
LaFontaine will be temporarily relocating the Lincoln franchise to LaFontaine Ford of Flushing while construction is underway for a standalone Lincoln dealership that will be located off Hill Rd. and US-23.
“Lincoln customers and potential customers have been underserved in the Mid-Michigan market and we aim to wow them with our complimentary concierge services, including pick up and delivery for sales and service,” added LaFontaine.
Founded in 1980 by Michael Sr. and Maureen LaFontaine, the nationally-recognized LaFontaine Automotive Group now includes 46 retail franchises, 10 collision centers and 27 Michigan retail locations. The Group employs over 1,800 individuals. It’s the ongoing mission of the LaFontaine family and passionate team members to personalize the automotive experience by building lifelong relationships that connect families and strengthen communities. The Group sold 36,277 vehicles in 2020 and is ranked as the 43rd largest dealer group based in the U.S. by Automotive News.
Josh Sloan will oversee the new LaFontaine Lincoln dealership. Sloan started with LaFontaine Automotive Group in 2011 and in addition to his new role, currently oversees LaFontaine Ford of Flushing and LaFontaine Ford of Birch Run. “I look forward to leading the Lincoln team and delivering an unmatched customer experience to our guests – whether it be for sales, service, parts or body shop.”
