This year, the Dearborn Education Foundation presented the Annual Green Tie Dinner Event virtually, but that didn’t stop the support from shining through from the shining stars within our community! Local businesses, individuals, public schools and vendors from the local Dearborn community came together to support this event and great cause despite the platform change.

Since 1992, Dearborn Education Foundation has supported and provided educators and students with the tools they need to succeed. It wouldn’t be possible without the help from those within our community.
LaFontaine’s mission is to build lifelong relationships, connect families, strengthen communities and personalize the automotive experience. Knowing the values of the Dearborn Education Foundation, we proudly support them year after year and love to see how beneficial events such as this one can be to providing support and resources for our educators and students!
“This event presents an opportunity to support the work of the foundation to improve and allow for world-class teaching and learning,” said Susan Dabaja, Council President and DEF Co-Chair. “At the same time it presents a platform to reflect on pass successes, honor those who have been driving forces in those achievements and remember that our work is not yet done.” These funds will help and allow the DEF to provide scholarships to students and promote education for their future.
This year, DEF facilitated the donation of 25,000 masks, a pallet of hand sanitizers, school supplies, internet for students, social and emotional training for staff and immigrant families. “Just because we didn’t have much in-person learning, didn’t mean that we lost sight of our mission” said John Zadikian, Board Member of DEF. “It was merely modified to meet the needs of the district”
