Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram customers will soon be able to access their vehicle’s Uconnect infotainment system to order Domino’s Pizza and more!
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is taking advantage of the Uconnect market and establishing in-vehicle transactions in the next half of the year. With the use of the touch screen, customers have the ability to order pizza, make restaurant reservations, pay for their gasoline in advance at select Shell stations, and even pre-pay for their parking garage tickets. Along with those accessible luxuries, FCA drivers will be able to schedule service appointments at FCA dealerships.
Installation will take place over-the-air for both 2019 and 2020 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles that have connected services and the latest updates.
Uconnect’s product marketing manager, Mike Novak states that if other merchants decide to join the Uconnect Market, there will be room due to the system being scalable. It is a new addition that makes the bold clarification that FCA is “open to exploration.” Novak explained the system to simply enhance their customer’s productivity because time is valuable.
With the assistance of Harman and Google the Uconnect Market update follows FCA’s April announcement of an “ecosystem” for the vehicle. According to FCA, this system will manage the data inside the vehicle using the cloud-based platform Harman Ignite. This particular service will help deliver a variety of connected services to drivers.
Mike Novak emphasizes that FCA will be focusing their attention on getting customers to give Uconnect a try. Novak states, “When we launch, we’re going to make sure they know how to use it, how to do the first setup as far as creating a wallet so you can make transactions and payments, and Beyond that, to see what opportunities there are for co-marketing opportunities. If somebody isn’t a Shell Fuel Rewards member, explaining to them how you could if you wanted to. If somebody hasn’t purchased Domino’s Pizza before, just giving them incentives to give it a try. We’re looking for clever, fun marketing activities to entice people to use it.”
All in all, FCA is focused about enhancing their customer’s overall vehicle experience.
