Archives For University of Michigan

The best thing in sports is here my friends, yes I am talking about March Madness and the NCAA Tournament. Besides the Super Bowl, this is the only sporting event that people who have zero interest in sports pay attention to.

So imagine what it does for those of us who love sports? It’s more than magical!

While each year the tournament is filled with surprises and upsets, there are two things that are almost guaranteed to happen each and every year.

#1 – Nobody will ever fill out a perfect bracket (but you can give it your best shot in our Family Deal Bracket Challenge).

#2 – The Michigan State Spartans will probably make a deep run in the tourney.

And as a University of Michigan grad, this hurts me…a lot!

College Football’s National Signing Day has passed and Michigan’s recruiting class is not the typical top 10 class Michigan fans are used to.

This year Michigan closed signing day with a flurry but only ended up with the 38th ranked recruiting class finishing with 14 total recruits.

So now that Fantasy Football is over, I am going to dive right into the Detroit sports scene giving you the coverage you crave in an exciting and unique way.

I had hoped my first post would be about something happy like the hiring of Jim Harbaugh or a Lions playoff victory. But due to unforeseen flag pick-ups, plans have changed!

hitchins call

So as we collectively sit back and bemoan the opportunity that was ripped out from under us by the poor officiating in our recent playoff (fix) loss at Dallas, that got me thinking – how does the Flax Fix of the 2014 NFL Wild Card Playoff game rank among the all-time worst calls in Detroit Sports History?

I’m going to warn you, reliving these 8 terrible calls may make you a little sad and angry all over again, so grab some tissues and a pillow to punch just in case.
